Overview of Registries as they Relate to Coteau Kennel

Coteau Kennel currently has dogs that are registered with UKC, AKC, and NAVHDA.  In its basic form, a dog registry is a database.  This database is used to maintain a record of a dogs parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc.  The most common use of the database is the documentation of breed purity.  A breed or performance club registry is designed to maintain a breed's function and form.  In the bes of worlds, a dog registry and breed club should compliment each other.  To ensure our dogs at Coteau Kennel and their offspring have transferable registries to NAVHDA, all our dogs are AKC registered as Brittanies and to ensure genetic purity, all our dogs are UKC registered as Epagneul Bretons.  Our dogs are also registered and tested with NSA=AVHDA.  Both UKC and NAVHDA offer opportunities to test your dogs performance.  Additionally, UKC offers a venue to have your dogs confirmation judged to ensure that the dogs are complete in both form and function - a total dog concept.
